AH! AH! AH! AH! AH!

Yes, it’s the invisible evil boys choir (as seen in the Omen movies and countless rip-offs and parodies of the Omen movies and Crazy Apple Rumors Site) giving a shout-out to the company that keeps going out of its way to earn the moniker “the evil empire.”

The link comes via Atrios who wonders if it isn’t time to “switch to Mac” (sic – grrrrrrr… It’s THE Mac! Like THE Batman!).

Well, duh.

Seriously, let me break this down as simply as I can.

Al Gore sits on Apple’s board and Steve Jobs was a consultant on Kerry’s campaign.

Microsoft sends Ralph Reed $20k a month and *hearts* the Bush administration big time for taking the Justice Department of its back, and shows it when election time comes around.

You can bitch about Apple’s DRM being the will of the recording industry (Microsoft’s is way worse, of course), you can rail against Apple for suing rumor sites for revealing trade secrets (if you choose to ignore the fact that someone violated a contract), and you can point out that Gates is a hundred times the philanthropist that Jobs is (this is true). But at the end of the day, when you’re shelling out for a copy of Windows or Office, you’re sending money to the GOP.

Use Linux. Use the Mac. Use your head.

But a few years ago, when Apple Computer seemed to be near collapse, I declared that if Microsoft was the only software choice available, I’d just do without a computer. It’s not entirely a rational response; some of Microsoft’s products are very good. Some aren’t. Now, via John Moltz’s weblog, I’ve got a specific reason to be glad I’m a Macintosh user: [...]
