An email to Jim Brady

Dear Mr. Brady,

I noted with some consternation that the America-haters have succeeded in bringing down Ben Domenech, a man who all good virgin Christian conservatives can look to as a hero (if not in battle), a martyr (if not actually dead) and family (even if his family is the kind with connections out the yin-yang and most peoples’ families wouldn’t be able to get them a better table at the local Stuckey’s).

Apparently the terrorist lovers believe that a little thing like plagiarism is an iron that they can throw into the spokes of the great bicycle of freedom that our Dear Leader George Bush is riding toward victory.

As if.

My approach to this is to say that we should take these lemons the Islamofascist humpers are hurling at the Post and make delicious, Christian, heterosexual lemonade.

(Not that fancy Snapple crap, either. Damn hippies.)

Mr. Brady, there is only one person who can fill Ben’s boots to overfilling and use them to kick liberal ass. And that person is General J.C. Christian.

Please review his writings (http://patriotboy.blogspot.com/) and I believe you will know – without conducting any further research or Googling or asking around about him – that he is the right heterosexual male for the job.

I look forward to his ascension.

Sincerely,
John Moltz

[If you'd like to support this campaign, please email the Post and Jim Brady at letters@washpost.com (Dan in comments said he got a bounce from that address - please use the one below!).

And feel free to just copy/paste all of the above. That's what Ben would have wanted.]

UPDATE: The General has Jim Brady’s direct email address: executive.editor@washingtonpost.com. You know what to do.

UPDATE II – THE REVENGE: I popped out to see V for Vendetta (review later, but thumbs up) and came back to find both firedoglake (hey, Jane, who’s this “John Motz“? [Corrected! Yay! The system works!]) and Atrios have joined the Jesus’ General for WaPoBlogoConservoAppeasatron 2000 juggernaut.

I think that it would be fitting tribute to the climax of V for us all to email the exact same message to Jim Brady.

Who is the General? He is all of us.

UPDATE III: Make sure to also copy/paste the letter to Deborah Howell in support of the General!

Christ. I just wasted three hours of my life getting caught up with this debauchery.

We don’t usually have issues like this in Canada. Our laissez faire Canadian politics tend to create a very segemented group of pundits from the rest of society. Us polisci students up here usually need to look to the south to be entertained [save for when our premier “assaults” a page; http://www.cbc.ca/edmonton/story/ed-klein20060302.html.

What shocked me most about this is how naive he is about what happened. In his update stating he resigned from the Post, he continually refers to being ousted by “the Left,” as if they simply didn’t want him soiling their precious Post. Perhaps it is the “Left” that only gives a damn about morals and ethics?

“Oh no! You can’t have an abortion, but it’s totally cool to lift copyrighted work and play it off as your own. Jebus is A-OK with that.”

This “Left” he speaks of isn’t people who disagree with what he has to say; infact, any logical person can look at what Domenech writes and laugh at it. It’s clearly about what he did in the past, then how he balls out denied it, then acknowledged it and tried to elaborately cover it up, before ultimately counting his losses and blaming the baby-hating, homo-loving, church-burning, freedom-hating “Leftists” who have been out to get you you’re whole life!

Congrats, Ben. You’re own personal Iraq is complete.

My letter is below… As you can see, I decided to write my own message to Mr. Brady…

Dear Mr. Brady,

Please know that this entire email is completely – 100% – my own creation. At no time did I plagiarize another’s work when putting this message together. Thank you in advance for your time. (If you do find shades of other writers work in this letter, it is the editor’s fault… and don’t believe a word Cletis says – he’s a damned liar)

100% original letter sent to Mr. Brady:

Dear Mr. Brady,

I saw with some dismay that the evil doers who hate our freedom have succeeded in bringing down Ben Domenech, a man who all Christian right thinkers can look to as one to be emulated (not in armed conflict, however, no, no), a martyr (although still up and walking around) and family man—a man of such family of political connections such as the likes of Jack Abramoff can only dream of.

Apparently the evil doers, enablers of Sin, Damnation, and Hellfire believe that a small thing like misadvertantly using somebody else’s words is a monkey wrench that they can throw into the great thrusting pistons of the humvee of democracy that our twice-born Leader, President George W. Bush, is driving, driving toward victory.

No way.

My idea for handling these freedom haters is to say that we should take these orange-sucking terrorist aiders and abetters (abettors?), these Islamofascist lovers of the vicious mongrel curs of war and terrorism who are hurling hateful invective in the general direction of the Washington Post, the Post, the Post, and make Flaming righteous orangeade therefrom..

Jim, there is but one individual who can put his feet in Mr. Domenech’s shoes to overflowing and use them to beat back the Vast Liberal Conspiracy. The name of that man is General J.C. Christian.

Please see his material at http://patriotboy.blogspot.com and you will understand with no further ado, without conducting any further research or tiresome Googling or making inquiries, that he is the right man, a 100% manly man, a red-meat eating, red-eyed, red-stater who was made for the job.

I eagerly await his installation.

RIGHTeously yours,

Helena Montana

I copied and pasted your letter, but I passed it off as my own. I will deny it, of course-unless Brady comes up with proof-in which case I will blubber like a baby and beg for forgiveness.

RE: REPLACEMENT FOR BEN

Dear Mr. Brady,

The following posts are directly lifted from their authors’ sites and are, I believe, correctly attributed to them, thus avoiding both an ethical transgression and a journalistic sin which, taken together, could constitute an “act of plagiarism.” At least that’s what I’m hoping.

Begging in advance for your attention and forbearance.

But I do have a question. If George W. Bush doesn’t have an original thought in his head, does the mere act of slavishly mouthing Dick Cheney’s thoughts and lip-synching his speechwriters’ words constitute an “act of plagiarism” on his part? Or is it cleverly designed “puppetry” instead?

Would love to know your thoughts on this matter.

Sincerely,
A Constant Reader
