Fred Barton is the man who has restored both the original Robby the Robot from the film Forbidden Planet and the B9 robot (my personal favorite) from the TV show Lost in Space. The restored B9 is on display at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle (the Robby the Robot there is a recreation and I assume it’s also one of his but I can’t seem to confirm that).
Robot trivia: both Robby and the B9 were designed by the same man: Robert Kinoshita, who turned 94 early this year.
My favorite robot is Gort, because he doesn’t mess around.

I have staked out this small corner of the Internet and claimed it as my own. Here I intend to build a small home from such wood and earthen materials as may be found, grow crops with humorous names such as "sorghum" and wile the nights away with great feats of whittling, which sadly has become a lost art.
