GAH!

There seems to be a lot of concern about what the Republicans "have" on Howard Dean and how much they're going to turn up the noise machine to attack his chairmanship.

Jesus fucking Christ, haven't we seen this movie?

I'm the first to say that there's no way to tell whether Dean would have had a better chance against Bush than Kerry had he won the nomination instead. But you'd think that after the Swift Boat Veterans Against Veterans attack the lesson might have sunk in that no one is bulletproof.

Yes, they'll play the scream over and over and, yes, they'll hurl whatever dirty they can fabricate at him.

They will do that to anyone.

You don't win the game by playing nothing but defense. We picked the guy with the best offense to be the chairman of our party.

Among the ways to counteract the noise machine that I've heard, and I heard this over at Hoffmania.com but it might be showing up elsewhere as well, is to send some turkee to the DNC every time you hear or see the Scream getting replayed. Doesn't have to be a lot - 5 bucks or so. And I'm thinking adding on $0.19 (for Jan 19, date of the Iowa caucus) might be a good way to send back the message that we refuse to cooperate with the attacks.

Yes, we're going to see the same old same old at first. The most original thing we'll see out of the GOP is if they get access to the records Gov. Dean had sealed at the end of his gubernatorial term. Remember the stink they made about that, even though he did sealed the records to protect people's privacy? We've seen all the other possible attacks, unless Howard Dean once again sticks his lower leg in his mouth on national television .

Howard Dean said, "I want my party back". He got part of what he wanted by becoming the Chair of the DNC. The rest of it is up to us.
