Methinks he doth protest too much

Kos makes a good point about Howard Kurtz's concern about delving into Gannon/Guckert's so-called "private" life that was, you know, on the Internet:

Apparently, he doesn't know that prostition is the world's oldest profession. People are digging into Guckert's professional life, not his private life.

Follow that up with Atrios' flashback to Kurtz's treatment of Dick Morris and it spells just one thing: hack.

Any time the GOP wants to make a move against someone, they don't do it just by talking about the person's professional life. When they want to take down an elected official, they use a two pronged attack: professional life (voting record) and private life - no matter how irrelevant. They're protesting so loudly because they think progressives shouldn't be able to turn their tactics around on them.

What I think is odd is that nobody has made the connection that he was a prostituting himself to the Bushies. What is the difference? Can you tell me what is the difference between selling your body.. or selling your soul?

I think you get more for your soul than you do for your body. Although, it may depend on the body. And possibly the soul, now that I think about it.
